Home Tour, Cost of a Reno & Current Future Self
#1
I have been dreaming of this home a lot lately. Well it used to be a home. But now it’s part museum part holiday rental. Whatever you want to call it though it just looks like heaven if heaven was just lots of books, nooks and olive trees.
Located at the edge of the Western Peloponnese in Greece the building is not very large, yet it feels generous and expansive. But more than that, it reflects the vibrant exchange of ideas, works, and conversations that would have flourished within its walls while it’s owners, Joan and Patrick Leigh Fermor were in residence.
The layout of the house means that all rooms are facing both gardens and water, and it is constantly crisscrossed by the breeze and enveloped by the scents of the forest around it. And it’s charm is in the textured authenticity of the white-washed walls, the exposed stone and pebbled floors and its sprawling Mediterranean garden of cypress trees, olive trees, white oleanders and wild flowers, that roll down to the sea.

Rising cost of living blah blah blah yes it is hitting us all. But did you know that in 2024, with the rising costs of materials, trades and the banning of engineered stone, the average bathroom is now costing approximately $40-45k including design fees. And the average cost for a kitchen is sitting at $90K!
Something to think about for your next renovation….

Your current and future self is determined by:
- What you eat
- Who you spend your time with
- How you treat your body
- What you read
- What you listen to
- Who you follow
- What you think about
- How you invest in yourself
Upgrade your inputs. Upgrade your life.
Thanks for reading.
