Colour Vibrations, Entry Ways & Trend VS Timeless

#1

Give me a moment so I can whisper sweet nothings in your ear about one of my favourite contemporary artists Indivi Sutton

The The New York-born artist has emerged in recent years as one of the most thrilling young creative talents thanks to her evocative paintings that explore colour, the nuance of emotional interdependence and the relationship between painting and memory.

Working with natural pigment powders on raw linen, her artworks can feel like they physically vibrate with energy and evoke a contemplative state, intended to help you as a viewer connect with the depths of your own being.

Her work is available in Sydney from Saint Cloche gallery and I would give up all the dollars and cents in my piggy bank to own one.

Last week my Feng Shui notes were a hit and so I thought I’d send you some more. But this time from a proper Feng Shui pro. Enter Suzanne Butler from Harmonising Energies with some words of wisdom on your entryway…

If you open your front door and can see your reflection, it is a bit like opening your camera and seeing yourself. It’s a lot. But unlike your camera, the mirror facing your front door is sending the good energy back out your door, making it impossible to circulate through your home. If you want a mirror in your entry way, place it on the side where your door opens to. You can still check your appearance before you leave the house, but you won’t be sending the good juju out with it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the age-old conundrum of trends vs timeless lately. Do you like it or do you like it because it’s hot right now? I think all of us are affected by ‘trends’ in some way, even if it’s just by actively trying to avoid them! Just look at Meryl Streep’s speech about cerulean blue in The Devil Wears Prada… Trends are fun to acknowledge and notice but I feel like they should be a bonus to you loving something rather than the driving force behind choosing it.

Thanks for reading.
Until next time,

p.s I’m trying to get better doing instagram. I’m far from perfect. Constantly dipping in and out of it when I have space in my brain. But I’m here if you want to follow me.

p.p.s This is my fourth Pillow Talk Newsletter (you can read the past ones here if you missed them). If you like what you read and think others might too, I’d be so grateful if you would hit that forward button and share the love. The more the merrier.
